Antique print titled 'Wild Boar and Lion'. Old print of a wild boar and a lion. This print originates from a series depicting fables by Samuel Howitt. Samuel Howitt was an English painter, illustrator and etcher of animals, hunting, horse-racing and landscape scenes. He worked in both oils and watercolors. A lion and wild boar fight while vultures circle above. Wild boar and lion. Illustration of a Greek fable. Copperplate etching drawn and engraved from life by Samuel Howitt from his own A New Work of Animals, Principally Designed from the Fables of Aesop, Gay and Phaedrus, Edward Orme, London, 1811. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
