A rare original concert poster for a performance by british rock band the stranglers at the famous bataclan theatre in paris on friday 6 october 1978. Screenprinted in vivid red and black, the simple yet striking design features the band's signature silhouetted rat motif, first seen on the back cover of their 1977 debut album 'rattus norvegicus'. By the time of this bataclan gig in october 1978, the band had already released two successful follow up albums 'no more heroes' and 'black and white', with singles such as 'peaches', 'something better change' and 'no more heroes' becoming instant punk classics. With a career spanning five decades, the stranglers are one of the longest-surviving bands to have originated in the uk punk scene. Printed in france by ipa, champigny.
