This offering presents a beyond rare FIRST RUN and well-preserved set of three vintage "Dot" stools, a classic piece of Mid-Century Modern design by the legendary Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen. Designed in 1954 and refined in 1970, the "Dot" stool is a testament to Jacobsen's enduring design philosophy, which he described as striving for pieces that were "as thin as possible and never in the middle". This particular set with it's very evident provenance of the three legged, rubber ring bumpers beneath and stamped Made In Denmark, features the iconic stackable design, making it a practical and versatile addition to any home, providing extra seating with a minimalist footprint.
Among "Dot" stools this set is exceptionally rare as they hale from the the first production run in the 1950's, which is apparent with their exposed screw heads and bare base beneath with black rubber ring bumpers, make these a true unicorn of a find!
Crafted in Denmark, these stools feature the authentic construction of a teak seat paired with dark-tone metal three leg bases. The design elegantly balances a sculptural form with functional simplicity, a hallmark of Jacobsen’s work. As a true vintage set, each stool carries a history that is reflected in its condition. The teak seats display a rich, warm patina consistent with age and use. The steel bases are structurally flawless only showing minor signs of discoloration and age-appropriate wear, all of which contribute to the authenticity and character of these pieces.
