The design on the back is a metallic … Read more Who needs four Mid-century tole painted chairs, with near perfect rush seats? The design on the back is a metallic gold floral with matching gold fleur de lis on each front legs, and several portions of the hand lathed supports that assure a sturdy seat for decades to come. The painted designs are in the style of Hitchcock chair co, but the chairs are attributed to Tell City Chair company, a well known furniture company in Tell City, Indiana, that closed in the 90s. The rush seats are in excellent condition, with no pieces in distress. They have an extraordinarily small amount of sealant- thankfully not polyurethane. There are scrapes, scratches and use marks aplenty. These chairs were made to be used- daily and well. Each of the side pieces have two struts to stabilize, as well as a single strut design on both front and back, hand lathed with gold accents on the front. Please note the sturdy, carved half foot design of the front. There is wear on the paint. These are vintage pieces in excellent vintage condition.
