LARGE FLOOR STANDING FIGURAL LAMP , ITALY.
Beautiful example of craftmanship.
Measures 58" tall, globe is 12" in diameter
Girolomo Pieri immigrated to Philadelphia from Italy in the 1940s. Initially, he earned a living working for a small business selling such things as piggy banks. He and his brother, Silvano, eventually bought the business and expanded it to include items, like lamps and statues, that allowed Girolomo to use his ceramic skills. The business grew to be a factory and studio that took up a city block. Over the years, many other immigrants from the hill towns of Bagni Di Lucca in Italy worked for the business. The Pieri family sold the business in the early 2000s, as mass production and imports from China affected the domestic artisan market.
Lamp is name stamped on the back bottom. Very heavy lamp.

This lamp has been carefully stored for many years. The home it comes from has no children, pets or smoking. The globe is perfect. It has a few surface flea bites and small paint scrapes (easy touch up). . The last picture show a very small hole that has been there since I first saw this lamp 55 years ago. Very heavy lamp!
