Charles Baker first studied with his father, Charles Baker Senior, an original founder of the Art League of New York. Charles Jr. exhibited widely including with the Brooklyn Art Association (1863-1864) and the Boston Art Club (1888-1889) as well as at New York's Salmagundi Club, where he served as resident artist from 1892. Charles Baker Jr. is well-listed in all relevant art reference works including Who Was Who in American Art and Benezit's Dictionary of Artists.
