Hand-painted Asian porcelain fishbowl planter featuring traditional figural scenes and architectural motifs. The exterior showcases intricate gold and black artwork with finely detailed depictions of people in ceremonial attire, set against a backdrop of floral patterns and pavilion structures. The rim is adorned with gold-accented botanical designs on a white ground, while the interior remains subtly decorated with “swimming” koi fish. A striking blend of craftsmanship and storytelling, ideal as a statement planter, or simply as a decorative piece.
Measures 12” wide by 9" tall with a base measuring 7”.
Beautiful fishbowl cachepots were used in Chinese courts as a way to care for koi fish in harsh winters.
