A truly versatile industrial lamp designed by jean-louis domecq – the name “jielde” comes from the french pronunciation of his … Read more A truly versatile industrial lamp designed by jean-louis domecq – the name “jielde” comes from the french pronunciation of his initials: ji-el-de, these lamps have no internal wiring at the joints so can articulate with amazing flexibility, reducing and increasing height or changing direction with ease. This model is called the ‘standard’ lamp. The lamp shade and arms are steel, the base and joints are aluminium. The lamp retains its original jielde plate on the shade neck. The lamp paintwork has historically been stripped back and has an aged rust patina. The lamp scone doesn’t have any visible dents and the inside paintwork is in vintage condition. It has a rocker switch on the lamp shade neck to turn the lamp on and off. A solid metal base has been added to the base of the lamp for stability.

Circa: 1950s workshop report: the workshop team inspect all products and perform any necessary repairs to ensure many more years of future use, the lamp metalwork has been cleaned waxed and existing bulb holder has replaced with a new ce certified e27 (screw) bulb holder and it has been rewired with 2.5m of brown twisted vintage style fabric flex and a 3 pin uk plug. The metalwork is clean with a original green aged patina, the internal lampshade retains its original white paint and shows signs of wear.
