This is a beautiful handmade stained glass sailboat on wood by Lloyd Linscott. The small triangular flag on the mast top is deep red in color. The white sails on the glass have swirls of dense white. The base of the boat is black glass. The wood base is beautifully stained brown, showing the wood grain.
Lloyd started working on stained glass when he moved to Melbourne Beach, FL in 1977. He was originally from Hingham, MA. The house he bought in FL included equipment for stain glass making. As a fluke, he dove in, learning the art, and even developed a technique to “slump” the glass for the sails. He was artistically acclaimed world wide. Lloyd died in October 1993 at the age of 67. Thereby, this would have been created between 1977 and 1993. Great nautical collectors piece, signed.
