The upper panels of the cabinet doors display elaborate carved designs of tiger and pine tree, which are prominent motifs in Chinese art and symbolism.
This red cabinet traditionally given as wedding gifts in China during the 18th century and beyond, symbolizing wealth, status, and wishes for a prosperous union. It has two main doors with a removable central clasp, one removable shelf inside upper portion of armorie, two drawers outside and two drawers inside at middle offering storage space.
