The glass shade is known as the skyscraper design with its tiered top encircled by vertical bars of clear glass. The underside of the base is signed P G, which stands for the manufacturer, Paul Gilles (refer to picture 11). The glass shade is also signed Gilles, which is just barely visible on the edge of a vertical bar (refer to picture 15). Finding this particular model with the shade intact was quite a rarity. The base without the glass shade appears on the market on occasion, the shade having been broken at some point in years past.

The glass shade has some imperfections that I want to point out. There are some chips around the bottom of the shade (refer to pictures 12 and 13). Once the shade is inserted into the base, they are no longer visible. There are also some scratches on the shade, but there are no cracks in it. I have decided not to change the socket, which requires a bayonet bulb (refer to picture 10), or the plug, which is the European variety (refer to picture 8). I have added an adapter for the plug so that it will fit a standard US outlet. The bayonet bulb shown in the socket is 110V and is included with the lamp. I have a large supply of these 110V bayonet bulbs if you need more of them in the future. The wiring of this lamp is in very good condition and does not need to be replaced unless you so desire. It is completely functional in its current state when plugged into a 110V outlet.
