A stunning uranium-glazed and vitrified majolica ceramic box, designed by Martha Katzer around 1930 for the Karlsruhe factory, numbered under the base with an engraved number. Martha Katzer did not usually sign her pieces, as she does with this box. The inverted Omega-shaped knob is beautiful, and the bright orange enamel is distinctive, a characteristic element of the Art Deco style of the period. The box's shape, enameling, and coloring reflect both Art Deco and Futurist influences.
This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
