The crucifix ipsi apparent benedictur, and ab impuris attempt tionibus prorsus liberatur'. Scarce plate showing saint nilus, kneeling in prayer; in front of him a crucifix; christ comes alive. This print originates from 'picturae dominici zampierii, vulgo domenichino, quae extant in sacello sacrae aedi cryptoferratensi adjuncto tabulis aeneis incisae' published 1762. Artists and engravers: made by 'f. Bartolozzi' after 'domenico zampieri' francesco bartolozzi (florence, 21 september 1727 – 7 march 1815, lisbon) was an italian engraver whose most productive period was spent in london. Domenico zampieri (october 21, 1581 – april 6, 1641) was an italian baroque painter of the bolognese or carracci school of painters. Condition: good, given age. Some staining and spots in the margins. Two tiny worm holes upper right margin, not affecting image. A few minor crinkles or creases.
