When Sax Berlin experiences the desire to lay something down he's unstoppable. This piece was created from an initial impulse of red. He laid down the base of reds and retired for some sleep. Rising in the early hours of the morning and working with abandonment at the speed of galloping wild horses he painted until he thought the canvas complete. After this exertion Berlin relaxed for a while and then went back into his studio. He saw this piece and was stunned, not knowing where it came from he assumed that it was "Born in the Night".
