A rare and exceptional collaboration between two masters of the french art nouveau movement, this chandelier model “dahlia” was created by daum nancy and louis majorelle at the turn of the 20th century (1900-1905).

the chandelier features a large daum glass paste centerpiece accompanied by three matching shades, each intricately acid-etched with blooming dahlia floral motifs. The glass paste is enriched with layered colour powders fused within the material, producing a painterly depth of tone in purple, orange, red, and yellow. A vibrant evocation of nature’s brilliance at the height of art nouveau experimentation. All 4 pieces of glass are signed daum nancy and cross of lorraine.

the composition is supported by an exceptional hand-forged wrought iron frame by louis majorelle, whose organic lines and sculptural flourishes echo the floral themes of the glass. The contrast of solid metal and radiant glass captures the very essence of the movement: strength and delicacy in perfect harmony. Comes with original chain. The wrought iron has an amazing patina.

this chandelier is preserved in outstanding, original condition, a rare survival of such a complex and delicate work.
