A beautiful piece evocative of medieval wall art where Harlequin wears his traditional hat, often shown in the modern world to have belonged to jesters but is really an allusion to the diamond pattern associated with Harlequin. There may also be a hidden reference to Picasso here; in Guernica Picasso "placed" several Harlequin characters, one of whom is shedding a diamond shaped tear for the dead. See less
