A stunning polychrome and vitrified ceramic centerpiece, glazed with a green and white spotted pattern and finished with a metallic luster. Made in Austria, it is signed under the base with the double Wiener Keramik factory mark by Michael Powolny. It is in the Art Nouveau, Austrian Secession style and dates back to the early 20th century. The centerpiece has a distinctive shape: flat and very wide, with two recessed concave bands, cast on a lathe. The upper edge and the two corners of the concave bands are embellished with a raised beaded decoration, a very difficult process to achieve. The metallic luster covering the piece is marvelous, with rainbow and silvery hues. An important ceramic piece of the highest artistic importance.
