The … Read more The Alaska vase series by Goldscheider – West Germany combines traditional majolica technique with a modern, relief-like striped pattern. The white base color provides the perfect canvas for the dark, almost blackish-brown stripes, which protrude in relief and offer a matte contrast to the smooth surface. Ernst Carstens acquired the licenses for Goldscheider Keramik from Austria in the 1950s. In Fredesloh, Carstens adopted the shapes and ideas and integrated them into his factory. See less
