Dating to the early 1900s, this porte-revues or music sheet holder has been hand-carved in the style of Louis XVI. The caned sides are surmounted by a trophy of a crossed quiver of arrows and a torch, bound by a floral band and a crinkled ribbon bow. The caning is set within highly curvaceous moldings adorned with a recessed center and floral margents in the corner. The flower motif is also prevalent on the S-scroll legs and the modified H-stretcher.
