This is an antique Victorian circa 1880 Silver Biscuit Box made by Alexander Clark, London.
When closed, it has a beautiful silver shell shaped body with gorgeous, antique detailed branch supports. When opened, the interior features gold plated silver elegant hand pierced dividers. This gorgeous, intricate shell has a decorative opening mechanism. It opens in two halves and is held shut by gorgeous laurel wreath loose ring handles at the top.
This beautiful piece of history, purchased in the London Vault in London UK in 1983, could house anything from sweets to biscuits to any treats. It is a treasure to have as a decorative piece at any table gathering.
The artist is Alexander Clark which is not found in the list of designers or artists on the Charish list but it does in fact have an artist.
