The trio covers pivotal moments in the life and teachings of christ—his parables, his public entry into jerusalem, and his eventual judgment—making this a powerful and thematic group suitable for collectors of sacred art or as a devotional wall display. The first engraving, from matthew chapter xx, verses 11–12, depicts the conclusion of the parable of the labourers in the vineyard. The scene shows a group of workers receiving equal payment from their master, despite working different hours. The master's generosity and the workers' mixed reactions are captured with detailed gestures and expressions, framed within a formal garden setting with urns, architecture, and distant hills. The composition conveys the message of divine grace, regardless of when one comes to faith. The second engraving, from matthew chapter xxi, shows christ’s triumphal entry into jerusalem, riding on a donkey. A joyful crowd gathers to lay garments and palm branches before him. Children, elders, and disciples form a dense and animated crowd, while a city gate and arch form the backdrop. Above, birds fly through a radiant sky. The energy of the moment, combined with the symbolic humility of christ’s mount, makes this an especially moving piece. The third print, from matthew chapter xxvi, captures christ being derided by caiaphas, the high priest. Christ stands bound and calm before the judgment seat, flanked by roman guards. Caiaphas, dressed in grand robes, clutches his garment in anger. The architectural setting is richly shaded, and a heavy curtain above suggests both theatrical drama and spiritual concealment. This is a powerful representation of christ’s composure in the face of accusation and betrayal. Condition summary: all three engravings are in good condition with some light age toning and scattered minor foxing, especially in the margins. No tears or repairs. Strong impressions with excellent detail. Paper is stable and suitable for framing. Framing tips: display these works together in matching black, dark wood, or antique gold frames. Use an off-white or cream mount to complement the warm tones of the aged paper. Uv-protective glass is recommended to preserve the engravings' fine detail.
