This stunning blue Murano glass "Rostrato" vase was designed by Ercole Barovier for Barovier & Toso around 1960. The "Rostrato" technique, one of the most complex in Venetian glass, involves manually applying molten glass points to the surface of the vase, creating a sculptural texture that catches and refracts light.
The intense blue color provides a powerful and sophisticated visual presence, making this piece a true icon of 20th-century Italian design. Ercole Barovier, a master of artistic glass, elevated this technique to a unique level of virtuosity, combining tradition and modernity. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
