The Undulatus Bench, designed by renowned modernist Stanley Jay Friedman and manufactured by Brueton around 2005, is a striking example of sculptural contemporary design with postmodern influences. Design & Construction:
Frame: Hardwood construction for long-lasting durability.
Legs: stainless steel legs with 3-inch round stainless steel disc feet.
Upholstery: Soft gray velvety flannel-like fabric, providing a refined texture and inviting comfort. I'm not totally sure of the fabric but I think it might be a wool felt blend.
Cushioning: 80% urethane foam and 20% resin-coated polyester fiber, ensuring the perfect balance of support and plushness.
Condition:
This bench is in great condition, with very minor, age-appropriate wear. It has been primarily displayed as a decorative piece in an entryway, just used as a statement piece, preserving its upholstery and structural integrity. The original Brueton Industries, Inc. label and manufacturer’s license number (NY 48899) are intact for authentication.
