Heinrich R Schinz (1777 - 1861) Swiss naturalist, who studied medicine and became a physician in Zurich at the age of 21. He became a teacher at the medical institute in 1804 and served on the board and as the secretary for the Zurich Zoological Society. This image is from his Naturhistorische Bilder Gallerie aus dem Theirreiche, published by Karl Joseph Brodtmann who was one of the most accomplished lithographers of his day, as well as a print and book seller in Zurich and Schaffhause. Condition: Good. General age related toning and light staining and/or soiling from handling. Light foxing. A few minor soft creases. Please study scan carefully. See less
