An lavishly decorated Turkish coat likely from the Ottoman Empire period circa 19th century, presented in a shadow box gilt frame with dark blue fabric lining. The jacket was made from a silver damask patterned brocade with elaborate embroidery with golden threads covering much of its surface. The interior was lined with ivory color silk. Large roundel patterns nominate the front of the coat and along the length of the sleeves. Red and blue crescent symbols were embedded all along the embroidered borders.
Well conserved and presented, a bespoken piece of textile art.
