A stunning pair of repoussé silver picture frames, richly decorated in a scrolling foliate and floral Rococo Revival pattern. Attributed to Carr's of Sheffield, these frames feature hand-chased repoussé detailing with bold, high-relief ornamentation, creating an opulent backdrop for portraiture or treasured photographs. Opulent repoussé work with floral swags, foliate scrolls, and raised cartouche crests, the undulating borders and shell-like cresting evoke late Victorian to early Edwardian silverwork. They echo influences from Rococo Revival and Baroque ornament. Matched pair, ideal for flanking a mantel or dressing table. Large format, suitable for significant photographs, portraits, or even as decorative art frames.
Both frames are fitted with easel-style velvet backs for tabletop display, retaining their original hardware. The top crest includes a central cartouche, traditionally used for monogramming, which remains blank—allowing the next owner to personalize them if desired.
