Would be grand in a foyer with beautiful flowers or sculpture on it (or anywhere else in your regal home). There is a hidden storage box in the top of them that would be your little secret!
These retailed for $2,300.00 each new. ($4600.00 for the pair). There are a few minor scratches that are only noticeable upon close inspection. Maitland Smith is known for their exquisite quality furniture. These can be yours at a fraction of the original retail price.
They are not marked. Most of the other Maitland Smith pedestals that I have found are either not marked or have a gold sticker (more recent ones have a bar code) on the bottom. The stickers are missing on these. I reached out to Maitland Smith for authenticity and the company was purchased in 2019 and they have no archival records of furniture prior to 2019. The original pedestal owner said that they are Maitland-Smith and the estate sale company, who I have found to be very reputable, had them marked as such. They came from a home that was listed for over a million dollars so I'm inclined to believe they are Maitland-Smith based on the other quality furnishings in the house that were observed in the breathtaking home. They also are the same basic shape, style, or details as numerous known examples of M.S. pedestals. They are quite possibly mahogany, but I am not 100% sure. The pedestals were photographed at a slight angle, but the tops are centered on the pedestal and are evenly distributed. They are both the same size. See less
