The design of the butler estacle originated from gantzel-boysen’s earlier it pendant lamp, adapted into a versatile floor lamp format. Known for its clean lines and functional elegance, the lamp exemplifies the scandinavian modern design ethos. Bent gantzel-boysen designed lampetit, and various spotlights - lillebror, unispot, sorte louis and louispot all for louis poulsen. Later designing the duett pendant and the banjo series for ikea, further cementing his reputation in 20th-century lighting design.

the butler estacle was produced in three powder-coated finishes — white, chocolate brown, and red and in model variations with 1, 2, or 3 adjustable lamp heads. Your example is in white with 2 adjustable lamp heads, each with its own plug, allowing independent operation. The lamp retains its original attribution mark.
