This hand-painted ceramic plate is a work by Emanuele Luzzati, the renowned Italian artist and stage designer, created at the Pozzo Garitta kiln in Albisola, a symbolic place for ceramic experimentation in the 20th century.
The scene, instinctive and narrative in style, depicts a figure on horseback in a highly recognizable manner, with clear references to the fairytale and theatrical world so dear to the artist. Earthy tones, vibrant lines, and compositional freedom evoke the playful and visionary energy that defines Luzzati’s unique visual language.
An authentic and rare piece—a perfect synthesis of folk art, illustration, and auteur ceramics.
Excellent overall condition.
