It is a Dala rooster, hand carved and painted with colourful details made in the province of Dalarna, a cousin to the celebrated Dala horse. It has a lovely patina, with some wearing and tiny chips to the paint and lacquer which I think makes it more charming and a larger chip at the base, but mostly just general wear due to age and use.
