Blomqvist worked as a designer … Read more Kaj Otto Johannes Blomqvist (29 November 1931 – 1 April 2016) was a Finnish designer. Blomqvist worked as a designer at the Kumela glass factory, among other places. He was inspired by, among other things, Finland's pure nature, especially the rugged rocky landscapes of the Southern Finland archipelago, and the rest of the archipelago's nature. The rarer cast bronze works, which have been handcrafted in small series, are among collectors the most sought-after of Kaj Blomqvist's works due to their rarity. For example, the Church of St. Lawrence in Lohja has such a large cast bronze bowl as a baptismal font. Blomqvist has also designed silverware for the Gold Centre.
