Rodrigue painted Jolie Blonde, meaning “pretty blonde,” many times beginning in 1974 and continuing for the rest of his life. He placed the Jolie Blonde at first in bayou settings and later in more contemporary and abstract environments.

The original edition of Morning Glories Blonde included 225 signed prints. This particular piece is marked HC 10/15. Rodrigue signed 225 numbered prints, and an additional 15 HC prints, which were created and signed for individuals who worked with or were close to him.
