Exquisite antique, 19th-century French St. Denis 'museum quality' porcelain urn/vase, hand painted on a yellow ground with "bleu celeste" panels … Read more Exquisite antique, 19th-century French St. Denis 'museum quality' porcelain urn/vase, hand painted on a yellow ground with "bleu celeste" panels surrounding a beautiful naturalistic rendering of a castle scene on one side and a raised gilt design of a griffin on the other side. Gilt top and bottom with intricate accents. Deep cobalt blue handles contrast off the yellow and gold accenting perfectly, very eye catching! Incised under-glaze mark of 'St. Denis'. From a Palm Beach estate. St. Denis porcelain was produced in France and is known for its high-quality craftsmanship. Prized for their intricate workmanship, a pair of 'St. Denis' vases once sold at Christies for $3,750.

In very good condition considering age and history. Zoom in on photos to see any imperfections including visible crazing on the castle scene, loss of gold finish in places on the top rim and above the griffin, and loss of finish in spots on the handles. No cracks, chips, or repairs. See less
