This exceptionally large pair of Chinese Foo Dogs are the first in an addition from the original mold. The white glaze is thick and glorious and they have a fierce expression and a great scale as well. The face suggest both dog and lion with their paws resting on the round symbol of earth. The figures of Chinese Foo Dogs were originally referred to as Imperial Guardian Lions. These mythical creatures hold a special place in Chinese culture and art. They are originally from France but I bought them from a friend in Los Angeles. See less
