My offering to you is two lovely Pate/Foie Gras crocks from France. They are of two different eras. The larger of the two is made of Simplex stoneware, which is the traditional material. The later crock is comprised of Opalex milk glass, which started being used in 1950s. Both crock’s sides are decorated with lion head accents and a decorative handle on lid. The larger crock measures 3 1/2” tall x 4 1/2” wide. The smaller crock measures 3 1/8” tall x 4 1/2” wide. Both crocks are in very good vintage condition, no cracks, chips or parts missing. The interior of the stoneware does have brown staining on inside rim. The Opalex crock is stamped 15, the stone ware is stamped #14. Both versos are labeled France. These jars are so classic French. Aside from being reused again and again for pate/Foie Gras, they would make great butter dishes. They could also be repurposed as trinket boxes, or whatever suits your fancy. See less
