This elegant mid-century modern ceramic box by Pat and Covey Stewart embodies an exquisite fusion of modern design and artisanal craftsmanship. Featuring a soft, neutral gray glaze, its surface is adorned with delicate, gilt accented flowing lines that curve gracefully around the box, culminating in a striking handle sculpted in a sinuous, organic shape.
The interior is similarly decorated with a beautiful organic design and a ridged rim with gilt accents.
The Stewarts worked in Laguna Beach, California from 1950-1952, exhibiting at the Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts and selling their ceramic wares to high-end gift shops and hotel shops across the nation.
Signed on the underside "'Persian' Pat and Covey Stewart Handmade Ceramics Laguna Beach."
