This late 18th century cherrywood commode, dating from around 1790, reflects the refined elegance of the Classical period. Crafted in solid cherrywood, the commode features three full-length drawers, each adorned with its original brass ring handles, decorated with shell and stylized dolphin motifs – a distinctive neoclassical ornament.
The warm cherrywood surface has been carefully restored and polished, highlighting the rich natural grain of the wood. The commode stands on tapered feet and displays a clean, architectural silhouette typical for the transition from Louis XVI to Classical style.
