Artist Bio:
Itzchak Isaac Tarkay (1935–2012) was an Israeli artist known for his art of the modern figurative movement, specializing in women and cafe scenes, influenced by French Impressionism and Post-Impressionism. After surviving the Holocaust, he immigrated to Israel in 1949 and studied at the Avni Institute of Fine Art. He was also an entrepreneur who helped establish a firm that used scanners in the printing industry. His career included a long partnership with Park West Gallery, and he passed away in 2012 at age 77.
