From the Early 1900s, we believe it’s Walnut wood with a Chestnut Amber Brown stain and gloss finish on the outside. The inside storage compartment is partially finished and rustic wood. The hinged lid also has a brass chain to hold it open. But it’s the artistan Mission style design elements that make this piece special. Each corner has a V-cut curved wood panel that overlays the traditional Misson style raised frame. And the two side handles are wooden and beautifully designed. We love this chest. Its lid is thick and can also accommodate being used as a bench seating option.
