A rare handcrafted water carrier from Papua New Guinea, created using dried palm leaves and cane. The folded palm construction forms a sculptural vessel with a warm, ribbed surface, complemented by a woven cane handle and bindings. Traditionally used for carrying and storing water, this piece represents the practical artistry of New Guinea craftsmanship.
Collected in Papua New Guinea in 1989, it carries both cultural and historical significance. Today, it makes a striking decorative accent, equally at home in a rustic, tribal, or organic modern setting.
