This antique Art Deco machine age metal desk was produced by Simmons circa 1930. Possibly a Norman Bel Geddes design, this small desk features the modernist, streamline furniture designs Simmons commissioned Bel Geddes to create in the late 1920s and 1930s. Influenced by the German Bauhaus and Dutch De Stijl movements, the industrial, minimalist design has clean, geometric lines and features one drawer with cylindrical handle pulls. Simmons sticker on drawer interior.
CONDITION
Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use with a naturally timeworn, industrial appearance with age rubs and wear spots especially on the desktop and as per photos.
