This compact piece (16.5” W × 17” D × 27" H) features Mengel’s signature “Permanized” finish, designed to resist wear, and retains its original solid brass sculptural “buckle” pull — a hallmark of Loewy’s furniture designs.

The nightstand’s clean, boxy silhouette sits on a recessed plinth base, with a single drawer over an open cubby for storage. The interior drawer bears the original “Permanized Mengel” stamp, confirming authenticity.

Loewy, often called the father of industrial design, is best known for icons like the Coca-Cola bottle, Studebaker cars, and Air Force One livery. His furniture collaborations with Mengel are increasingly collectible for their streamlined forms and distinctive hardware.
