This vintage Afghan Peshawar rug, measuring 11'6" by 17'2", is handwoven from wool on a cotton foundation in the Peshawar region of western Pakistan. The origin of these rugs is complex, as they were crafted by Afghan refugees who settled in Peshawar during and following the Russian invasion of Afghanistan.
