Mid-century czech design by kozelka & kropacek, reupholstered in luxurious texel sheepskin with warm brown patinated bentwood frames. Comfort, craftsmanship, and timeless style. Designed in the 1940s by acclaimed czech modernists karel kozelka and antonin kropacek, this pair of bentwood armchairs captures the elegance and comfort that define mid-century modern european furniture. Created in prague during a flourishing era of postwar design, the chairs display a sculptural lightness paired with exceptional craftsmanship. Their brown patinated bentwood frames sweep in graceful curves from backrest to floor, a hallmark of central european bentwood mastery. The patina, developed over decades of careful use, enriches the wood with depth and character, while preserving its strength and fluid silhouette. The seats and backs have been meticulously reupholstered in premium texel sheepskin, sourced from the netherlands. Celebrated for its luxurious softness, dense wool structure, and durability, texel sheepskin owes its qualities to the unique island sheep breed and the salty north sea climate. Medicinal tanning preserves the natural resilience of the hides, ensuring comfort and longevity. This natural material brings a tactile richness to the design, offering warmth in winter and breathability in summer. The pairing of organic sheepskin with the warm brown patinated frame creates a visual and sensory harmony that is both modern and timeless. Dimensions: h 30.32 in. (77 cm) x w 26.78 in.
