Rare piece of Italian studio art glass from the VAMSA (Vetreria Artistica Muranese Societa' Anonima) furnace, which operated between 1936-1945. Amongst its partners, was Alfredo Barbini, the designer of this item.
Gorgeous small bowl, handcrafted and employing the sfumato technique to internally decorate both the bowl and the delightful lampwork frog that sits on the rim. Beautifully done and a hard to find form.
Measures 6.5"x 6.5"x 4.5". Has a few wee flea nibbles and appropriate foot wear. No obvious/visible damage of losses or cracks. Frog is undamaged. Unmarked, undated.
