Extremely rare ‘Smirne’ chaise longue with matching ottoman Designed in 1987 by Gianfranco Gualtierotti and Mazzoni Delle Stelle, and briefly produced in 1988 by Zanotta, Italy. This adjustable lounge chair features a cast metal base combined with a chromed tubular frame. Upholstered in dark brown leather. A turning point came for Gualtierotti and Mazzoni Delle Stelle after their meeting with Aurelio Zanotta. Impressed by their concept of an adjustable rocking chair, Zanotta requested further development of a reclining armchair with multiple seating positions. The result of their pursuit to combine form and function was the ‘Smirne’.
