This is a handsome solid wood reproduction antique davenport desk which dates to the late 20th century.
It is a distinctive looking piece which is perfect for use in an office or home study.
The davenport is solid, well made and heavy and will make a nice alternative to a traditional desk. The top is fitted with a sloping lid set below a raised compartment with lift up lid, designed for storing pens and pencils.
Both sides of the davenport are fitted with four drawers and under the sloping lid the interior is fitted with eight small drawers.
The sloping top is supported by flanking attractive scrolled supports and the base is set on small squat bun feet.
This piece has been hand painted in 'Serenity', by Rustoleum paints, the colour is a lovely dusky green colour. The paintwork has been lightly distressed and then waxed for protection.
CONDITION
The davenport is in solid structural condition with minor cosmetic marks.
There are some marks to the sloping lid.
