Signed lower center. Framed under glass. Mourlot Studios, Paris, circa 1956. Hand-pulled stone lithograph on fine art, acid-free, Arches paper. Mounted in a custom gold painted wooden frame under glass.
Manfred Schwartz was a Polish-born American artist who received training at the Sorbonne, the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, the Art Students League of New York, and the National Academy of Design along with studies with Charles Hawthorne, John Sloan, and George Bridgman. Schwartz exhibited along with Maurice Vlaminck, Bernard Buffet, Edward Hopper, and Andrew Wyeth. His trips to France influenced his work, especially to Étretat on the Normandy Coast at the suggestion of Henri Matisse. Schwartz was a member of the Federation of Modern Painters and Sculptors and American Abstract Artists, and his work is included in the collecitons of MoMA, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Whitney Museum, and The Art Institute of Chicago.
During the 1950s and 1960s, Manfred Schwartz created an impressive collection of hand-pulled stone lithographs at the Mourlot Studios in Paris, France. Flamenco Dancers is an example of this work.

Dimensions: site - 23 1/2" high x 19 1/2" wide; 34 1/2" high x 30 1/4" wide with frame.
