LARGE, … Read more This is a matted original 1958 French fashion drawing that we purchased in Paris. It is unique in size... LARGE, measuring 23.75 x 17 inches. This is rather large for a fashion illustration and thus makes it a showcase item. Done in watercolor and signed by the illustrator, it makes a statement. It features a glamorous mid-century "femme fatale", coiffed and dressed in an evening gown. She is in the latest of 1950's style! Note the details in the dress: the rich emerald color, the full ball-room style gown, the lush draping of the dress, and its metallic gold painted floret detailing! Note too the deep V-neck style and the gold ink detailing in the bodice and matching shoes! Her makeup and the earrings are the finishing touches. It is iconic of the period. It could be a focal piece in your home decor. It is in excellent condition consistent with its age and history. (see insignificant minor age spot below dress hem in photo.
