Similar pieces have also been used in restaurants and bakeries to display breads, baked goods and desserts.

Likely produced in the 1990s, this table replicates the lines of a museum piece dated to 1750-1850 that's in the collection at Mount Vernon, George Washington's estate just outside Washington, D.C. The last photo is of the original from the Mount Vernon Museum collection digital catalog.

While produced using modern methods, this reproduction is nice quality and in good condition with minimal wear.

Measures. 46" wide by 23" deep and 31.5" high to the top of the splashboard. 28.25" to the top of the flat table top, and 6.5" to the top of the bottom shelf with 18" between the shelf and the top supports.

From the Mount Vernon Museum Collection description...

"Rectangular table with serpentine-shaped top, three-sided splashboard, and a lower shelf on four, square, straight legs; the overhanging, three-board top is nailed to the frame; the splashboard sides are dovetailed to the back and are nailed and likely doweled to the top; plain, rectangular frame with solid front, rear, and side rails joined and nailed to the legs; three stretchers are joined and nailed to the legs and have a three-board shelf, incurved at front, nailed to their tops; entire exterior surface is painted brown."
